Overview
Ms. Hairuo Zhang is a trial lawyer with an emphasis on intellectual property and unfair competition law. She has represented some of the world’s most recognizable brands and argued before 20 different Chinese courts.
Ms Zhang has a strong track record in contentious matters. The Supreme Court of China listed three trademark and unfair competition suits that she won as Representative IP Lawsuits of the Year in 2013, 2015 and 2016. One design patent infringement suit she successfully litigated for a leading European company was included in the White Paper released by the Shanghai IP Court on World IP Day 2020. The IP Committee of the China Bar Association recognized a trademark re-trial suit that she won before the Supreme People’s Court among the top 10 trademark cases of 2018. Her notable cases include Google v. CNIPA, which she successfully litigated before Supreme Court – a landmark case regarding co-existence agreement.
Ms. Zhang co-founded Twelve Tables Law Firm. She and the firm have been nominated as leading IP professionals/firm by World Trademark Review, IAM Patent, Asian Legal Business and China Business Law Journal. Ms. Zhang had previously practised at King and Wood Mallesons, Baker McKenzie and LexField.
