Overview
Ms. Li Hong Duan is a senior partner at Tiantai Law Firm. She has more than 29 years of experience with IP litigation in China. When working as a law clerk and judge in the Supreme Court of the People’s Republic of China, the highest court in China, Ms. Duan heard many influential IP cases and drafted or participated in the preparation of a number of Supreme Court’s judicial interpretations on IP matters which have now become important sources of law.
Ms. Duan is an expert of the Zhongqi Trademark Expertise Center of the China Trademark Association, and an expert of the Beijing Intellectual Property Institute (BIPI). She is a part-time advisor of the Civil, Commercial and Economic Law School, CUPL.
During her more than 17-year career as an IP attorney, she has focused on business dispute resolution, IP litigation, technical transfer and licensing, and anti-monopoly law practice in China. She represented international and domestic clients in many complicated cases and received extensive recognition. One of her successful cases, Hi-Trend Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. v. Renergy Micro-Technologies (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. on the dispute of IC layout design infringement, was selected by the Supreme Court of the People’s Republic of China as a Top 10 IP case in 2014.
