Overview

Bitika Sharma is a graduate in Science from Maitreyi Collage (Delhi University) after which she completed her law from Delhi University in 2004. She has been associated with Singh & Singh Law Firm for the past 17 years and has immense experience in IP litigation and prosecution, be it trademarks, copyrights, designs or patents. Being a science graduate, she is actively involved in litigation in respect of Patents and Design matters before various High Courts as well as Supreme Court of India and prosecution of patents. She has also been regularly appearing before the Patent Office and Intellectual Property Appellate Board.

She has handled various high-profile patent litigations including Novartis Vs. Intas, Centuar Vs. La Renon to name a few. Ms. Sharma advises clients pertaining to their patent portfolio for assertion of SEPs and also Pharma Clients regarding FTO searches, litigation strategies, licensing, patent portfolio management etc. Recently, she has been involved in Biosimilars litigation matters before Hon’ble High Court of Delhi discussing the Biosimilar regime and the Data Exclusivity issues.

She also represents various Pharma Companies relating to advisory work on DPCO and NPPA related matters and regulatory compliances. She handles several writ petitions filed before Court challenging these issues. Apart from her patent practice, Ms. Sharma also has a diverse and vibrant trademark, copyright and designs practice which includes litigation, prosecution and advisory work for a large number of International & National clients. Bitika has been elected as an Executive member of AIPPI for Indian Group and has been regularly participating and attending various International Conferences such as INTA, APPA and AIPPI. She has been a Speaker at various Seminars and workshops organized by INTA, FICCI, IPA, TIFAC and CII.
