Overview

Cherry C. L. Tu is a senior partner at SUNDIAL IP law firm and a registered Taiwan patent attorney. She specializes in patent prosecution, patent invalidation, patentability and infringement analysis, trademark prosecution, IP management, and representation before Taiwan’s IP court. Her technical expertise includes computer software, mechanical art, industrial design, chip packaging and LCD manufacturing process.

She graduated from National Taiwan University with a major in mathematics and joined SUNDIAL from the year 2000. Before joining SUNDIAL, she had three years of industrial experience as an in-house IP counsel at a high-tech company. This industrial experience gives her insights and strategies of preparing and prosecuting patent applications.

Tu is a lecturer of pre-registration training for patent attorneys on patent law practice and a lecturer at Taiwan Intellectual Property Training Academy (TIPA) on patent management practice of application and maintenance. She is a member of the patent standing committee of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and a member of the international affairs committee of the Taiwan Patent Attorneys Association (TWPAA). She previously served as deputy secretary general of TWPAA.
