Overview
George J.H. Huang was the first lawyer to be qualified as a patent attorney in Taiwan. Having over 27 years' experience in the intellectual property field, he is skilled in advising clients in patent and trademark prosecution matters and all types of IP disputes, including litigation, invalidations, oppositions, etc.
Huang is fluent in English and Japanese and he demonstrates his strengths by assisting notable overseas corporate clients from diverse industries to obtain IP protections. He has been recognized as a leading IP practitioner in various listings.
Huang actively participates in professional associations; he currently sits as a member of the INTA enforcement committee and the APAA trademarks committee. He is a member of AIPLA, Marques, FICPI and Japan Trademark Association (JTA). He has been guest speaker at IP conferences in Taiwan and abroad, and lecturer in IP courses at universities.
Huang is also a keen writer. His articles are regularly published in AIPLA’s Innovate magazine, the FICPI blog and the INTA Bulletin. He is the co-author of the Japanese book Taiwan Patent Practice Guide, which serves as a practical guide for enterprises in Japan that provides detailed insight to the current patent practice in Taiwan.
